Henry Jurkowski, of Drummond Island, died Monday, January 30, 2012, on his 96th birthday.

He was born January 30, 1916, in Hamtramck, to Michael and Elizabed Sophia (nee Wgodzinska) Jurkowski. He grew up in Hamtramck.

Mr. Jurkowski married Janet Swereski April 19, 1941. He was a tool and die maker at Chrysler for 30 years, retiring in 1976.

She was born May 5, 1957, in Sault Ste. Marie, to Nyle and Beverly (nee Rye) Waybrant.

She married Ricky Chapla May 26, 1990.

She was born February 27, 1935, in St. Ignace, to Antoine and Gladys Moses.

She was graduated from LaSalle High School in 1953.

She married William Ralph Colegrove April 14, 1956, in St. Ignace.

E. Dale Holmberg, 84, of Midland, formerly of St. Ignace, passed away peacefully Wednesday evening, February 1, 2012, at Brittany Manor in Midland.

He was born August 25, 1927, in Moran Township near St. Ignace to Edwin and Georgia (nee Densmore) Holmberg.

Mary Agnes Lechner Stearns, 95, of Dafter, passed away peacefully January 28, 2012, in Fort Myers, Florida, surrounded by her family. She loved farming and gardening, and took up participating in thrillseeking adventures when she was in her 80s and 90s.

Thomas Hawker, 67, of St. Ignace and Jacksonville, Florida, died early Tuesday morning, February 7, 2012, at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Jacksonville.

He was born May 25, 1944, in Sault Ste. Marie. He lived in St. Ignace for many years. His wife, Flo, died February 23, 1988.
