We spent last Sunday in an all-day blinding snowstorm, so I guess winter has reared its head again. It must have been perfect weather for the snowmobile shows and winter carnivals to have fun in.

One sign of spring is the upcoming boards of eeview, which are being planned. Bob Brotherton, Donald McNeil, and Kirk Grinnell attended the school for Board of Review members Tuesday, February 15, in Rudyard. Now they’re all set for the March meetings, which will be held for the public Monday, March 14, at 9 a.m., and Wednesday, March 16, at 3 p.m., at the Newton Township Hall in Gould City. Taxpayers will be able to come into the hall to discuss their property taxes with the board.

The next board meeting will be held Wednesday, March 9, at 7 p.m., at the Newton Township Hall. These meetings are regularly held on the second Wednesday of each month.

A Courtwarming was held at Engadine High School between the junior varsity and varsity games. The kindergarten representatives were Olivia Vaughn and Carter Frisch, freshman representatives were Carrie Saddler and Daron Emery, sophomore representatives were Heather Myers and Aaron Converse, junior representatives were Anabel Grinnel and Frankie Neumeyer, and senior representatives were Duncan MacArthur, Ellen Wagner, Josh Betterly, Alex Prater, Tracy Polacheck, Brandi Butkovich, Addison Whittney, and Katie Fletcher.

With a close race for this year’s courtwarming kings and queens, the royalty now belongs to the new king, Duncan MacArthur, and the new queen, Katie Fletcher. Congratulations to Duncan and Katie.

Glad to hear that Jim France is home from the hospital after having back surgery and is up and on his way to recovery. A painful way to go, but we’re sure he will be back to new in no time at all. Good luck.

Happy birthday to Dori France February 24, Kelly Ann Gribbell February 26, and Michele Everhart February 28.

Stay safe and stay well. See you next week.
