Laura Lee Taylor LaRueLaura Lee Taylor LaRue Laura Lee Taylor LaRue, 44, of Chippewa Falls, died Monday, February 14, 2005, of complications from surgery.

She was born October 14, 1960, at Mackinac Straits Hospital in St. Ignace and was a graduate of Sturgeon Bay High School. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and the University of Minnesota and was one of the first women graduates of the Merchant Marine Academy in Piney Point, Maryland, after which she sailed on a Panama-Alaskan super tanker. Mrs. LaRue was a restaurateur and office manager of her husband's dental practice in Chippewa Falls.

Survivors include her husband, Dr. Randolph LaRue; her son, Jett; her parents, Harry and Barbara Taylor of Sturgeon Bay; three sisters and their families, Yvonne and Dr. Terry Trepper Dolan of Chicago, Margaret and Jim Buhk of Sturgeon Bay, Lisa and Sam Jones of Sturgeon Bay, and a brother and his family, John and Becky Taylor of Menominee.

A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 19, at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel at Chippewa Falls with the Reverend Father Robert B. Hoekstra, Chaplain of the Chippewa Manor Retirement Community, officiating. Friends called one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral chapel.
