Michael Roy Rye of Pickford was a former meat cutter for Vollwerth's and Foodland in Sault Ste. Marie, and for Downtown Meats and Deli in Pickford.

Mr. Rye died at the age of 51 Sunday, February 20, 2005, at Marquette General Hospital in Marquette.

He was born February 3, 1954, in Sault Ste. Marie.

Mr. Rye was a lifelong Pickford resident and a 1972 graduate of Pickford High School.

He enjoyed bowling and listing to music on the radio.

Mr. Rye is survived by one son and his family, Shawn M. and Jacque Rye of Flushing; two grandchildren, Dustin and Kailea Rye; his parents, Roy and Louise Rye of Pickford; one sister and her family, Jenny Lou and Troy Leach of Pickford; two brothers and their families, Dan and Cathy Rye of Barbeau and Ken and Jacque Rye of Rudyard, and seven nieces and three nephews.

Services will be held Friday, February 25, at 3 p.m., at Reamer Galer Funeral Home in Pickford. The Reverend Ron Bown will officiate. Friends can call from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.

Burial will be in Oaklawn Chapel Gardens, in Bruce Township.
