LaSalle Bowling Teams Close With Wins

St. Ignace girls and boys bowling closed out the regular season with victories at home against Gaylord Gold Saturday, February 19.

The Lady Saints downed the Lady Blue Devils 21-9, led by Desiree Allan with a two-game series of 272 and high individual game of 141. Sarah Pope added 233 and 118, Emily Misner chipped in 232 and 123, and Jessica Hyslop notched 211 and 112. Megan Stenson finished with a single game of 136, and Destiny Black had 53.

The St. Ignace boys upended Gaylord Gold 27-3, lead by Jamin Corwin with single high of 207. Josh Bloxsom recorded 206 and a two-game series of 368. Derek Rutledge had 199 and 387, Chris Binger charted 153 and 302, Drew Cope had a single game of 144, and Treston Fogelsonger notched 138.

St. Ignace boys finished with a 6-4 overall mark in the Northern Michigan Bowling Conference, while the Lady Saints went 1-9 on the season.

Team Prepares for Regionals

St. Ignace will prepare for the Regionals at the Gaylord Bowling Center Friday, February 25, and Saturday, February 26. The Saints compete in Division III as individualsFFFriday at 11 a.m. and as a team Saturday at 10 a.m.

The top seven girls and boys in each division and top four teams will advance to the state finals at Sunnybrooke Lanes in Sterling Heights Friday, March 3, and Saturday, March 4.
