In an effort to discuss anything else but the weather, I’ve decided that our weather is the most interesting topic on any given week. Spring in its truest form continues to elude us, but we’re hearty souls, and sometimes even patient, as we await the best the U.P. has to offer which, by the way, doesn’t include hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, and earthquakes.
A happy birthday to Hudson Township resident Bert Girardot, who has reached a milestone that most of us will never even come close to, as he celebrated 100 years of living. He continues to enjoy the outdoors and his family made sure there were many celebrations in his honor.
The Rexton Mennonite Church will celebrate a Mother’s Day get-together at the church and the theme will be gardening. If you have any questions, please call Pastor Tim’s wife, Kathy, in Naubinway at (906) 477-8090.
Our son, Dave, who is home on leave from the U.S. Army, along with his wife, Amanda, and children, Cyleste and Alex, are keeping Grama and Papa on their toes. On Sunday plenty of the Livermores and families gathered together to catch up with Dave on all of the families’ comings and goings, as well as the new additions since the last get-together.
Traveling downstate for nephew Darryl Livermore’s wedding were Roy and Karen Livermore and Lester and Kathy Livermore.
Several ladies in town enjoyed a retreat in Sault Ste. Marie last weekend.
Ron and Cindy Pongracz have enjoyed a visit this week from their son, Ron, from downstate Michigan.
Track season is underway. Continued well wishes for a successful season to all the youngsters from the home of the Eagles at Engadine.

Happy Mother’s Day to my mom, Nona Fraleigh of Curtis, and to all moms, moms-in-law, daughters, aunts, nieces, sisters, and sisters-in-law. May this Mother’s Day bring you all your hearts desire delivered by the love of your family.
Heartfelt condolences to my friend and co-worker, Mary Ann Mullins, on the passing of her mom, Arletta St. Louis.
