Seven Mackinac County veterans will be honored in a graduation ceremony Saturday, May 7, at 10 a.m. at St. Ignace Area Schools to recognize World War II and Korean War veterans who served their country at the expense of their high school diplomas. The ceremony is open to the public.

Congressman Bart Stupak (D-Menominee), in coordination with area school districts, is organizing the effort for veterans who live in Mackinac, Luce, Chippewa, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, and Emmet counties.

A graduation ceremony is planned for Petoskey Middle School Auditorium at 3 p.m. on the same date, also with seven participants, Mr. Stupak’s office reported Monday, April 18.

The registration deadline for the ceremony was March 28.
