Gould City Eagles to Present $1,000 to Newton Twp. Fire Dept. on May 7
The Frank Frisch Sr. Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 4483 of Gould City invites the public to a grant presentation and celebration Saturday, May 7, at Laidlaw's Country Corners in Gould City. The organization will present a $1,000 grant to the Newton Township Fire Department at 4 p.m. A Salisbury steak dinner will begin at 5 p.m., followed by music and dancing.
This event is open to all Eagles members and the public. This is the first major donation and event hosted by the Eagles of Gould City.
The Frank Frisch Eagles Aerie was chartered September 12, 2004. Meetings are the first and third Thursday of the month at 6 p.m. Their meeting place is Laidlaw's Country Corners on highway US-2 in Gould City. The group is using the facility for the time being, and has filed paperwork to lease the building and eventually purchase it.
“We are a new and fledgling club, but hope to be able to make many more charitable donations to our community as we continue to grow,” said Secretary Rennie Weidenhamer. “We are looking for new members to join and especially those willing to contribute and participate.”
The Eagles also have a Ladies Auxiliary 4483 that is quite active in the community, Mr. Weidenhamer said.
