‘Safety Net’ Training at Mackinac Straits
The public is invited to attend a program entitled “Safety Net Training for Persons Affected by a Chronic Illness and Their Care Partners” Tuesday, May 10, at 6 p.m. at the Education Room at the Mackinac Straits Hospital Long Term Care Facility.
Janet Yoder, program coordinator of the Alzheimer’s Association for the Upper Peninsula, will share information with families about creating a “safety net” for physical safety, needs, feelings, and lifestyles when managing chronic illness. The program will focus on increasing safety, security, and freedom in the home and will provide information about community resources for helping caregivers cope with challenges faced in providing care.
There is no registration fee for the presentation, but a free-will offering will be accepted. Registration is requested no later than Friday, May 6, by calling Ronda Schlehuber at 643-7489.
