Evening Under the Stars Benefit for Lighthouse
The DeTour Reef Light Preservation Society (DRLPS) will host its sixth annual Evening Under the Stars lighthouse benefit event at the Bayside Dining waterfront on Drummond Island, Saturday, July 2. There will be several works of art available for a silent auction, including a Limited Edition print donated by James Kelley incorporating a piece of original glass from the Light Station.
Cost is $100 per person. All profits go to the DRLPS lighthouse preservation programs.
DRLPS was established in 1998, to restore and preserve the DeTour Reef Light one mile offshore in northern Lake Huron at the eastern end of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Major restoration of this historic lighthouse was completed in 2004, and public tours and overnight stay programs are being offered this summer. Along with the restoration and preservation programs, the DRLPS continues to educate the public on the lighthouse and maritime history of the region.
For reservations or more information, please contact Joyce Buckley at DRLPS, P.O. Box 307, Drummond Island, Michigan 49726, (906) 493-5725.
