Ashley St. Louis became the fifth family member to be presented the Stanley St. Louis Memorial Athlete of the Year Award, in memory of her grandfather, at LaSalle High School.

At least one person in the family tree has won the prestigious award in each decade since the award was named after Mr. St. Louis in the early 1970s.

Ed Lester Sr., uncle to Ashley, won the honor in 1972 and 1973, Judy St. Louis (an aunt) received the award in 1977, Jeff St. Louis (an uncle) earned the honor in 1981, and Michelle LeCount (a cousin) was the selection in 1998, according to Mr. St. Louis.
