Pickford hosted the annual Hay 10K, 5K, and 2K Runs Saturday, August 6, starting at 9 a.m.

Carl Morrison, 18, of Pickford, won the 10K race overall, with a time of 40 minutes and 39 seconds. The women’s winner was Marg Meincke of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, with a time of 50 minutes and 46 seconds.

First place age division winners include Donnie McLeod, Dan Wallis, Dan Puddister, Jim Elzinga, Bonnie Mayer, Susan Fitzpatrick, and Armande Preschke. Second place medals were awarded to Nic Raden, Randy Vining, Ken Guillard, Penny Tomkinson, and Janet Hess.

In the 5K Race, Stuart Chipman of Sault Ste. Marie finished first, with a time of 17 minutes and 47 seconds. The female champion was Rosanna Chapman of Goetzville, with a time of 20 minutes.

In the Hay 2K, Joshua Hester, age 10, of Brimley, won the race with a time of 8 minutes and 20 seconds. Lydia Heimonen, age 7, of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, was the girls’ division winner, with a time of 9 minutes, 19 seconds.

First place age division medals were awarded to Paul Morrison, Matthew Kennedy, Brad Hunter, Mathew MacMichael, Jay Six, Kinzie Heikkenan, Rachel Heimonen, Claire Morrison, Denice Portice, and Pat Thelan.
