Seney Refuge To Conduct Burns

Seney National Wildlife Refuge will conduct a series of prescribed burns this summer, which began with a test burn Wednesday, August 3. The burns are done to enhance habitat for wildlife species including song birds, black bears, and sharptail grouse. The burns also can help reduce the severity of wildfires, reported Gary Lindsay, prescribed burn specialist.
