Ann Wright of Greenville has been a houseguest of Jim and Ann Dyer of Cut River Road. Jim and Ann attended the gathering at the township hall in Epoufette last weekend. There were more than 100 people, friends, and relatives of the old Rexton and Epoufette families visiting and enjoying the good food.

Lee Dyer has moved to Phoenix, Arizona, and is employed at Mid-state Auto.

Bob Flora’s home is quiet, now that all his children have left for their homes in various parts of the country. It was a good time for Bob having all his family home for his early birthday celebration. Bob will have his birthday November 27 and we will celebrate on a smaller scale.

Gio, Betty, and Crystal Giordani took Priscilla Revord blueberry picking last week.

Crystal Giordani will begin assistant office administration services classes in Petoskey after Labor Day. We wish you well.

I took some wild primroses down to Barb Jorgensen last week. They originally grew in Louise Hagen’s front yard. I had transplanted them a couple years ago in my flower bed and it was time to dig the whole bed up and separate perennials, so the primroses had to find a new home.

Tracy Movalson came home last week and Dave and I, along with Tracy, drove to East Lansing to attend the wedding of Andy Movalson and Lisa Lozier Saturday, August 20. The wedding was beautiful, as all weddings tend to be. The bridesmaids were in red and the mothers were in black, as is the fashion nowadays. Miss Amanda was the flower girl in white with red rosebuds adorning her dress. Her brother, Zach, was attired, as were the groomsmen, in black tuxedos with red cummerbunds and red bow ties. The reception was at the Kellogg Center on the campus of Michigan State University. The university staff served a wonderful dinner, after which dancing ensued. Zach and Amanda never left the dance floor.

Joe and Lori Stewart and Dodger and Striker left Lee Quigley’s home for Fort Myers, Florida, Saturday. Sunday, August 21, Lee’s birthday, Bill and Sue Arsenault and Carol Burke of Sault Ste. Marie came down to Brevort to help her celebrate. Saturday, Lee’s sisters-in-law, Dolores Quigley of Sault Ste. Marie and Rita Tolan of Jackson and Lee toured around DeTour, Hessel, and Cedarville. They went to the casino in Hessel and had dinner in Cedarville. Rita and Dolores have summer cottages in DeTour.

Kathy Reid has put out the finch feeder and has quite a few gold finches dining on thistle seed.

Jimica Diamond reports that the tomatoes in her and Gary’s garden are doing nicely and starting to turn that lovely shade of red we all look for this time of year.

Jim Rose has three Brittany pups left, out of a litter of nine.

Janice Hoover of Prudenville was on her way to the Blueberry Festival last weekend with some of her paintings to sell, when her truck overturned and rolled several times. Fortunately, Janice wasn’t seriously hurt, but the truck was totaled.

Dave, Tracy, and I were dinner guests of Joe and Lori Stewart last Wednesday evening celebrating Lori’s mother’s birthday.

Please remember Chrissy Movalson in your prayers, as she is in University Hospital in Ann Arbor.

Enjoy the last vestiges of summer and look for a gorgeous fall.
