Hold on tight, we’re coming to a screeching summer halt. It has been a great summer with regard to the weather, albeit a tad dry, but last year was the opposite. It just goes to prove, you can’t count on the weather staying the same, no matter which month it is.
The annual church picnic will be Sunday afternoon, August 28, at the home of Esther Bigelow on Epoufette Bay. Each year Esther so graciously opens her home and the big fry pan for a great whitefish dinner, so following church services, head in that direction. You won’t be disappointed.
Guest at the home of Evelyn and Dale Burgess is Sue Leffler, who in winter has the Burgess’ as her guests in sunny, warm Florida.
Best wishes to Alan Jones, who is recovering at Marquette General Hospital following a serious accident in the woods last week. Alan, according to his dad, Ron, should be able to return home Tuesday, and will continue to mend his broken bones there.
A hospital stay for John Snow was on the agenda last week as well. Rumor has it, he even had a visit from a very unconventional doctor.
Birthday wishes to Leta Standring and Hana Belonga August 22, Desi Derusha and Drake DeWyse August 23, Melissa Spencer and my friend and co-worker, Judy St. Louis, August 25, Laurie Spencer and a family favorite, Hillary Kleeman, August 27, and Mike Kerbersky and Ashley Wheaton August 28.
Anniversary wishes to Elmer and Diane Albright August 22 and to my niece and nephew, Yvonne and Chris Maison, Tony and Alice Martis, and Gary and Lynn Moore August 28.
