Les Cheneaux Playground Installation Begins Aug. 29
Les Cheneaux Elementary School received an $1,800 donation from Continental/Teves, Inc. of Brimley for its playground. The school plans to begin Phase II of its playground project Monday, August 29, at 1 p.m.
Elementary School Principal Eric Cardwell reported that the school received the donation after a parent told Continental/Teves about the playground project and the need to raise money for equipment and installation. Representatives from the company plan to be at the playground ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday, September 6, at 11:30 a.m.
The last of the playground equipment parts and wood chips are expected to be delivered to the playground site this week. A construction crew of volunteers, led by Bob Tooley of Cedarville, will work on preparing the site and installing the equipment, which will double the size of the existing activity center. Mr. Cardwell said construction is expected to continue Wednesday, August 30, and Thursday, August 31, starting at 8 a.m. each day.
Volunteers can show up at the site on those days.
