Veteran coach Tom Wilson, in his 30th season with the Cedarville program, will have one of his tallest teams when the Trojans take to the hardwood for the 2005 season.

“Height, experience, and quickness are the keys for this team," said Coach Wilson. “Graduating seniors Liz Reno, Shayna Rohrer, Cathy Millon, and Kelly Sheckler all did positive things for us and will be hard to replace, but this group of girls will pick up the slack."

Tri-captains Lauren Izzard (guard) and Donielle Landreville (forward/center), both seniors in their second varsity season, and junior Emily Feldhake (center), in her third campaign, will lead the green and white.

Seniors Marcelle Reno (forward/center), and Marcie Mason (forward) return for their final season, while first-year varsity players are juniors Lindsay McLeod (center/forward), Kara Griffin (guard), Kristen Duman (forward), and Rebecca Bickham (guard).

Opponents of the Trojans will have to deal with the height of Feldhake, Mason, McLeod, and Landreville. The foursome can play either the center or forward position.

"This group is ready to play and had a good summer together against strong opponents. We must stay healthy and play smart basketball," said Coach Wilson.

The Eastern Upper Peninsula Conference (EUPC) that includes the Trojans, Pickford, Engadine, DeTour, and Brimley will be the strongest from top to bottom in recent years. "You must come ready to play each night, especially in the league," Coach Wilson said.

The Trojans non-league schedule of St. Ignace, Rudyard, Posen, Big Bay de Noc, Harbor Light Christian, Mackinaw City, Pellston, and Harbor Springs will prepare Cedarville for the tournaments. Cedarville will close out the EUPC schedule on October 27 with a home game against Pickford and complete the regular season with non-conference games against St. Ignace, Pellston, Harbor Springs, and Big Bay de Noc.
