St. Ignace Fire Department was dispatched to a small garage fire on US-2 Friday evening, August 26, when used charcoal was improperly stored, catching nearby material on fire.

Fire Department Captain Bryce Tracy said the fire was almost out by the time firefighters arrived. Though there was minimal damage from the fire and the water, there was some smoke damage throughout the building, said Mr. Tracy.
