Les Cheneaux Museums To Pick Winning Tickets for Quilt, Boat
Les Cheneaux Historical and Maritime Museums will offer an admission-free day for people to tour the museums Sunday, September 4. The museums will be open from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The ticket drawing for the Les Cheneaux Historical Association’s hand-crafted quilt will be at 4 p.m. at the Historical Museum. The piece, called “Up North Sampler,” was made by a volunteer group of quilters, and features rustic colors and figures of moose, bear, and trees. First place prize in the raffle is the quilt. The second place prize is a smaller “lap quilt” crafted by the volunteers, and third place prize is a pillow matching the quilt.
The Historical Association’s annual canoe raffle drawing will also be Sunday, at 3 p.m. This year’s drawing prize is a handcrafted wood and cedar canoe made by a different group of volunteers.
All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit Historical Association activities and projects.
Tickets for both museums’ raffles are still available at Cedarville and Hessel businesses.
The Historical Museum is on Meridian Street in Cedarville. The Maritime Museum is at the corner of M-134 and Lake Street in Cedarville.
