The next hearing of the new U.P. and Northern Michigan Task force will focus on education Thursday, September 15, at 7 p.m. at St. Ignace Middle School Library, hosted by State Representative Gary McDowell (D-Rudyard). Residents, local officials, labor leaders, and community members may attend to share ideas and concerns.

Presentations will be given by Patrick Rowley, superintendent of Whitefish Township Schools in Paradise, Mike Springsteen, superintendent of St. Ignace Area Schools, and Lynwood Leightner, industrial arts teacher at St. Ignace. The public will be invited to provide comments at the hearing.

The St. Ignace Middle School Library is at 860 Portage Road.
