Lake Superior State University (LSSU) will host the annual Eastern U.P. College Fair, Monday, September 19. Representatives from more than 30 colleges and universities will be on hand to talk to local students about the opportunities available at their institutions.

The fair, open to anyone interested, will be from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Norris Center gymnasium on the LSSU Campus at Sault Ste. Marie. Admission is free.

“We invite high school students from throughout the Eastern U.P., as well as northern Ontario,” said Allan Case, assistant director of Admissions at LSSU. “This is a great opportunity for students to visit with many different college representatives to find out what each of them has to offer.”

Students will find information about applying for college, what programs are available to them, how to quality for financial aid and scholarships, and what campus life is like. Mr. Case said several LSSU faculty from a variety of disciplines will be available to talk to students, as well as representatives from the Admissions and Financial Aid offices.

Colleges and universities that have indicated they will attend the fair include: Albion, Alma, Aquinas, Central Michigan University, Concordia of Wisconsin, Ferris State, Finlandia, Gogebic Community College, Grand Valley State, Hillsdale, Hope College, Illinois Institute of Technology, Lawrence Technological University, Michigan State, Michigan Tech, Northern Michigan University, Northwood, Olivet College, Saginaw Valley State, University of Michigan, University of Western Ontario, and the U.S. Naval Academy.

Additional colleges and universities will most likely register between now and September 19, Mr. Case said.
