Motorists Reminded of Ramp Closure
Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) reminds drivers that the US-2 West ramp exit is temporarily closed on northbound I-75 at St. Ignace. Some motorists have missed the exit and have contacted MDOT about the situation, said John Batchelder, manager of the Newberry Transportation Service Center.
“Due to limited space between the Mackinac Bridge toll booths and the temporary exit, it comes up on you quickly and motorists need to be alert and watch for the signs,” he said, noting that a number of signs are in place to alert motorists of the change.
Motorists traveling north on I-75 who need to go east or west on US-2 should use the first St. Ignace ramp, exiting east on US-2.
The reconstruction project is scheduled to be complete in late October.
