Hurricane Relief Donations To Be Accepted at Pickford Twp. Hall
Food, cleaning supplies, clothing, and personal items are being accepted for those affected by the recent hurricanes at Pickford Township Hall on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The effort is organized by the Iron Mountain Police Department, with the Sault Ste. Marie City Police Department.
Items to be accepted include canned foods, baby formula and baby food, and non-perishable packaged food such as pasta, cereal, powdered milk, cookies, rice, bottled water, instant soup, and juice. Cleaning supplies, paper towels, school supplies, clothing for all ages and genders, bedding, backpacks, disposable dinnerware, personal hygiene items, and medical supplies are also being accepted at the drop-off point, as are tarps, work gloves, plastic garbage bags, gasoline cans, generators, small propane grills, and cases of 20-ounce propane bottles.
Donors are asked to place similar items together in a sturdy box and label the box clearly with permanent marker. Volunteers are asked to include a $2 tax-deductible donation per box to help with shipping costs, and bring donations to Pickford Township Hall during collection hours.
