Goldie Robinson Goldie Ellen Robinson was a lifelong Marion, Ohio, area resident who spent time in Cedarville with her family during the later years of her life.

Mrs. Robinson was 87 when she died Sunday, October 30, 2005, at her daughter's home in Cedarville.

She was born May 7, 1918 in Forest, Ohio, to Harley Ray and Lena Wave (nee Bash) Southward.

She married Francis Victor Robinson October 2, 1937, in Marion, where they also raised their family. Mrs. Robinson was a member of the Fite Memorial Baptist Church in Marion, and she also attended the First Union Church in Cedarville. She enjoyed socializing with the senior citizen groups in both Marion and Cedarville. She also liked to play bingo and quilt. During her life, she made hundreds of quilts. She also assisted with Les Cheneaux Sportsman's Club activities when she was in Cedarville.

Mrs. Robinson is survived by three daughters and their families, Carolyn and Chuck Prater of Marion, Helen and Robert Marks of Cedarville, and Virginia and Larry Whitaker of Marion; two sons and their families, Charles H. and Karen Robinson of Lima, Ohio and Harley and Vicki Robinson of Harrisville; and 12 grandchildren and their families, John Prater, Jim and Cheryl Prater, Chuck Prater, Dawn and Edwin Donathan, Shawn Marks, Todd and Debbie Marks, Tabitha Whitaker, Nicole Whitaker, April and Brian Webb, Carol and Louis Urban, Mark Robinson, and Lisa Williams.

She is also survived by 25 great-grandchildren, Danny Pakunis, Jim and Sara Prater; Amanda, Jeremiah, Josiah, Rachel, Jonah, Jacob, and Joshua Donathan; Conner, Elizabeth, and Raya Webb; Christina and Paul Urban; Ashley Marks; Amber Davis; Tyler and Trent Pitko; Madison Whitaker; Jordan Samples; Chantras and Caden DeWitt; Corey Marks, and Misty Hagerman. Other survivors include three sisters and their families, Avonelle Williams of Marion, Mildred Prater of Marion, and Marilyn and Jon Jones of Cromwell, Indiana, and one brother and his family, Bill and Della Southward of Marion.

Mrs. Robinson was preceded in death by her husband, Francis, in 1984, three sisters, Eloise Southward, Dorothy Saunders, and Ruth Armstrong, and three brothers, Harold, Earl, and Jack Southward.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 2, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Boyd Funeral Home at 122 West Columbia Street in Marion.

Services will be Thursday, November 3, at 10:30 a.m. at Boyd Funeral Home. The Reverend David Carlyle will officiate.

Burial will be in the Claridon Cemetery in Claridon, Ohio.
