Sandra Garavaglia
Sandra Garavaglia, 58, of Rexton, died October 24, 2005, at her home. Mrs. Garavaglia was diagnosed with cancer more than 10 years ago. She was born September 7, 1947, in Birmingham to Charles and Mary (nee Frahm) Gravlin. She lived all her life in the Rochester area, moving to Rexton in 1999. She was graduated from high school and attended beauty school; she was a beautician all her working life. She was a member of Five Points Community Church in Auburn Hills, and attended the Rexton Mennonite Church since moving to the area. On November 5, 1967, she married John “Jack” Garavaglia. Mrs. Garavaglia is survived by her husband, her mother, Mary Gravlin of Rochester Hills, a son and his family, John and Kathleen Garavaglia of Shohola, Pennsylvania, a daughter and her family, Amy Garavaglia of Utica, two brothers, Chip Gravlin and Floyd Gravlin, both of Rochester Hills, three sisters, Angel Johnson of Auburn Hills, Lois Weddington of Caruthersville, Missouri, and Leta Grady of Utica, and grandchildren Christopher, Kyle, and Joslyn. She was preceded in death by her father and a sister, Pam Jewitt. Funeral services were Friday, October 28, at the Rexton Mennonite Church with Pastor Tim Miller officiating. Burial was in Epoufette cemetery. Pallbearers were Dan Garavaglia, Chris Garavaglia, Dave Hanson, Bob Hanson, Al Spencer, and Tom Prater. Dodson Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
