All-SAC Team Announced

Six St. Ignace Saints were named to the Straits Area All-Conference football team during the annual meeting by the head coaches Monday, October 24, at LaSalle High School.

Derrick Clark (kicker) and James Sayles received first team offensive honors, while Zach Pierson, Jake Smith, and James Sayles were named to the first team defense and second team honors went to Rob Sayles and Pierson on offense and Sam Fitzpatrick on defense.

Players of the Year came from the league champions, Newberry Indians, as Jake Pann was voted the top offensive player and Matt Payment the outstanding defensive player.

Rudyard Bulldogs were represented by Trent Salo, Owen McGrath, and Travis Clegg on first team offense, Salo on first team defense and Mike Chantos, John Rogers, Nick Pavolski, Jordan Gaskin, Lee Stevens, and Dan Bartley on the second team.

Remaining Newberry players include Travis Stokes, Joe Phlicher, and Brandon Wheeler on first team and Andrew Schultz, Cody Kilgore, Alex Herbit, Mike Houghton, Alex Brewster on the second team.

Sault High Blue Devils include D.J. Welton, Nick Moran, Zach Anderson, and Sam Hoffrichter on first team and Ben Pineau, Charlie Claxton, and Wayne Somes on second team.

Cheboygan Chiefs on the first team include Justin Dann, Steve Tallman, Dave Schneider, Dusty Fish, and Nathan Schott, and second team members are Kyle Eno and Cody Sems.
