Rudyard, Brimley Defeated in EUP Hoops Action

Rudyard fell to Cheboygan 68-22 in a Straits Area Conference (SAC) match-up and Brimley was defeated by Newberry 51-39 during a non-league contest Thursday, October 27.

The Chiefs led 28-16 at halftime and outscored the Bulldogs 40-6 in the second half to post the win.

Corine Ross scored nine points, Dana VanSloten chipped in five, Emily McDowell and Kelli Koivisto added three, and Aimee Doyle and Courtney Mesnard both notched one for Rudyard, which fell to 8-7 overall and 6-4 in the SAC.

Katie Stacks scored 13 points and Leslie Skierra added 12 for Cheboygan.

Bays Fall at Home

Both teams scored 24 points in the first half before the Indians outscored the Bays 27-15 in the second half to record the road win.

Carrie Aikens scored 14 points to lead the Bays, while Katey Kingsbury added eight, Jenna Somes, Kayla Perron, and Ashley Lothrop chipped in four each, P.J. Hopper tallied two, and Hanna Hope charted one.
