The St. Ignace News announced the All-Area Football Team for the 2005 season that includes 51 players with 28 seniors, 19 juniors, and four sophomores.

First Team Offense, Defense

St. Ignace: Senior Zach Pierson, juniors Jake Smith and Sam Fitzpatrick, and sophomore Nick Montie on defense and juniors James Sayles and Derrick Clark (kicker) on offense.

Cedarville: Senior Cory Wellnitz, and juniors Justin Baker and Matt Hansen on offense and seniors Gary Kott, Aaron Bright, Alex Smith, and Matt Manley on defense.

Rudyard: Seniors Trent Salo and Travis Clegg and junior Owen McGrath on offense and seniors Jordan Gaskin and Nick Pavolski and junior Dan Bartley on defense.

Pickford: Juniors Caleb Rader and Jason King on offense and senior Richie Boal on defense.

Engadine: Junior Grayson Hood, sophomore J.J. Troyer, and senior Scott Butkovich (punter) on defense and senior Jacob Swider on offense.

Brimley: Seniors Travis Lynn and Jeff Graham on offense and senior Derek Parish on defense.

Special Mention

St. Ignace: Seniors Rob Sayles, Garrett Becker, Stephen Massaway, and Wade McKenzie.

Cedarville: Juniors Keith Foster, Michael Pollard, Peter Treleaven, and sophomore Devon Wilson.

Rudyard: Seniors Mike Chontos and John Rogers, and junior Lee Stevens.

Pickford: Seniors Jon Clegg, Jordan Hatfield, and Toby Kibble, junior Allen Orr, and sophomore Joe Jenkins.

Engadine: Senior Paul Converse and juniors Stefen Albright and Dylan Duflo.
