We certainly had a white Thanksgiving, but now it seems more like early April. Such is Michigan weather.
The past weekend was good for football enthusiasts; Thanksgiving holidays are like that. Mary Ann and Larry First enjoyed the various games that were televised. Due to the stormy weather their dinner guests were unable to make it to Brevort.
On November 23 friends gathered at the home of Bob Flora to celebrate his 90th birthday. John and Lucy Evashevski from St. Ignace, Betty, Gio, and Crystal Giordani, Barb and Owen Jorgenson, Dave and myself and Dave Jr., all of the village, Eric and Kelli Movalson, Amanda and Zach of Howell, Tracy Movalson of Depere and Pat Smith of Appleton, Wisconsin, were all there to wish Bob many happy returns of the day. A wine toast was made to Bob and cake and ice cream were served.
Thanksgiving guests at the home of Betty and Gio Giordani and Crystal Giordani were Sandra and Rhett Bartman and family, Annabelle and Antione of Elk Rapids, Kay and Steve Marshall of Muskegon.
Marilee and Eric Bartholomy, Erin, Michael and Tyler spent a quiet family Thanksgiving at their home on Church Road.
The Gustafson family Thanksgiving dinner was hosted by John and Pega Kennedy at the Wildwood Pasty Shop. Monday they are closing the shop for the season.

Lee Quigley had Thanksgiving dinner with her family, Joe and Lauri Stewart of Fort Myers and Candy Quigley and her family. The afternoon was spent on Joe and Lauri’s boat as they toured around Captiva.

Dinner guests of Mark and Brenda Spencer were their son, Mark Scott, and his wife, Terra, of Redford and Mark and Joan Spencer of Brevort.
Jimica Diamond’s boxer gave birth to seven puppies last week, four males and three females, all adorable.
Jody and Mike Gustafson had an early Thanksgiving celebration. Robbie Gustafson was home on leave from Iraq two weeks ago. Mike and Yvette Gustafson and daughter, Violet, of St. Ignace, joined the family for dinner.
The feet under our dinner table this past weekend belonged to Eric and Kelli Movalson and Amanda and Zach, Tracy Movalson, Pat Smith, Bob Flora, Rick and Gloria Weber, Dave Jr. and Dave and myself. First time in more than 20 years our whole family has been together for Thanksgiving.
Kathy Reid and Bob Jarzinka were callers in Sault Ste. Marie on Monday. Seems the Christmas lights that worked last Christmas all of a sudden don’t work now. Don’t we all know that fact of life?
Mary Carney has undergone successful hip replacement surgery at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey and is now home recuperating under the watchful care of Warren Cunningham. Monday the staples came out. I know how that feels afterward–great! Get well soon, Mary and keep up the good work, Warren.
Joyce spoke with daughter, April Campbell, of Saratoga Springs, New York. Seventeen year old Ashley Campbell, a runner of some repute, is on her way to Oregon to compete in a track meet there. Ashley and her fellow teammates are sponsored by Nike. Nike supplies them with all the equipment they need to run track plus help with the expenses participating in meets in various parts of the country. Ashley aspires to be a veterinarian. Her sister, Danielle, has a teaching degree and hopes to go on to get her master’s degree.
Mike and Lara Gustafson were callers in Cheboygan on Monday.
Penny and Dan Mulligan dropped by our house Monday for a visit. Penny and Dan are from Redondo Beach, California. They are working on their vacation house here in Brevort.
