This year’s Middle School Drama Club production features two lighthearted one-act plays. The first offering of the evening, performed by sixth grade Drama Club students, is “How to Eat Like a Child,” a humorous look at the world through the eyes of the elementary school set.

Punctuated with music and laughs, “How to Eat Like a Child” offers words of wisdom on such subjects as on how to avoid being a grown-up.

The cast includes Erin Currie as Corey, Marissa Torres as Rachel, Katelyn Williams as Christy, Heather Mongene as Kimberly, Martin Payment as Darien, Brittany Smith as Ricki, Daniel Landreville as Billy, Chelsea Bohn as Rebecca, Emily Nelson as Sunshine, Ian McGreevy as Brandon, and Jimmy Zyble, filling out the cast as George.

The second, one-act performance of the evening, performed by the seventh and eighth grade Drama Club members, is “Cinderella Confidential.” This hilarious retelling of the classic fairy tale tries to unravel the mystery of the woman behind the missing glass slipper. Two investigative news teams from the Glitter Kingdom compete for the scoop of the century, interviewing everybody from a fairy godmother in need of a day planner, to two hapless mice who have been placed in the witness protection program because of their involvement in the mystery.

The cast features Erin Winberg, Logan Smith, Audrey Koster, and Victoria Dresbach as the Glitter Kingdom Today News team, Casey Sherlund and Ryan Torres as the Action Newsday Now News team, Isaiah Murray as the Prince, Danielle Weaver as the Fairy Godmother, Max Rudolf as Jack, Jimmy Zyble as Pinocchio, Rebecca Dowdell in a double role as the Shoemaker and Stepsister Number One, Shanda McCord as the Elf, Nathaniel Kostecki and Meghan Spencer as the mice, Chelsey Payment as Cinderella and Savannah Madigan as Stepsister Number Two.

The Drama Club’s program will last approximately one hour and 15 minutes.

The production is being produced and directed by LCCS Drama Club Advisor Lisa Dunn. Jacob Strait will serve as stage manager for both productions, assisted by Danny Hitchens. Sets for the play have been created by the cast, with the artistic assistance of Jennifer Payment.

Sound will be handled by Doug Sheckler and Holly Grover, with lighting design by Ali Eberts. Betty Struble will be at the keyboard providing musical accompaniment. Alice Coyne, Erin Smith, Amy and Emily Winberg, and Emily Pieri will perform the “How to Eat Like a Child” theme song.
