Heidi Lindberg Janz of Hessel received a master’s degree in occupational therapy from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo in August. She is on the staff at War Memorial Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie, where her area of expertise includes hand therapy. She has also been certified in the treatment of lymphedema (chronic edema or swelling). She mainly serves outpatient and home health patients.

“We see patients who have suffered with chronic edema for years,” Mrs. Janz said of the new lymphedema program at War Memorial. “We have been able to decrease girth and increase the function of the affected limb. It’s been very rewarding.”
