Teaching Group Makes Donations
     At the first meeting this year of the Alpha Tau Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, President Margaret Goldthorpe of Newberry welcomed Angela Morehouse, from Sault Ste. Marie, who teaches at Bahwething Elementary School, into the Chapter. The membership now stands at 49 members.

Durm Graduated, To Be Deployed
     David P. Durm was graduated from Advanced Individual Training at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. Mr. Durm will be stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado until January, when he will be deployed to Iraq. The son of Jim and Annette Durm of St. Ignace, he was graduated from LaSalle High School in 2004.

Births Cameron Cotton
     Stephanie Becker and Shane Cotton announce the birth of their first child, Cameron Kurtis Cotton, born at Holy Cross Hospital in Taos, New Mexico, August 25, 2005. Cameron weighed 5 pounds, 12 ounces, and was 18 inches long.

Local Sergeant Serving in Iraq
     Air Force Staff Sergeant Nathan D. Geldner is deployed overseas as part of continuing U.S. military operations in Iraq. A graduate of LaSalle High School, Staff Sgt. Geldner is a civil engineer with seven years of military service. He is the stepson of Shelly Geldner of Bayshore Road in St. Ignace.
