Bulldogs Top Bays in Girls Hoops

The trio of Dana VanSloten, Corine Ross, and Kelli Koivisto combined for 47 points to lift Rudyard to a 55-37 non-conference win over Brimley Tuesday, September 6.

VanSloten scored 20 points, Ross added 16, and Koivisto chipped in 11 to lead the Bulldogs to their first win, while Aimee Doyle notched four, Megan Rogers counted three, and Courtney Mesnard marked one.

Ashley Lothrop scored 12 points to lead the Bays, while Molly McIntrye added nine, Carrie Aikens chipped in five, Kelly Graham notched four, P.J. Hopper, Marissa Lawson, and Miranda Rousseau tallied two each, and Katey Kingsbury charted one.

The Bulldogs led 17-8 after the first eight minutes and held a 26-19 halftime lead after both teams scored 11 points in the second quarter.

Rudyard outscored Brimley 18-5 in the third quarter to increase the margin 44-24 before the Bays held a 13-11 scoring in the final period.
