Navy Construction Mechanic Petty Officer Second Class Thomas Wilk is performing a detailed inspection on a tactical Hummer before it enters the shop for repairs. The 1997 graduate of LaSalle High School is the mechanic shop floor supervisor and in charge of maintenance and repairs for 128 pieces of heavy combat construction equipment. Mr. Wilk is deployed to Fallujah, Iraq, with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 133, homeported in Gulfport, Missouri, in support of Operation Iraq Freedom.
