The annual Naubinway-Engadine Merchants Association Snowmobile Show will be Friday, February 17, and Saturday, February 18, in downtown Naubinway, where you will find many antique and vintage snowmobiles. There will be food booths and a swap area, along with a banquet and drawings that evening.
Everyone is welcome to join the fun at the 12th annual Curtis Winter Carnival, Saturday, February 18, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Curtis. Join them for a full day of fun for the whole family. That evening, you don’t want to miss the beautiful fireworks display over the South Manistique Lake.
Saturday, February 25, everyone is welcome to join in the fun at the Millecoquins Lake Winter Carnival. All activities will be centered in the Hiawatha Sportsmans Club recreation building on Millecoquins Lake. Enter one of their many contests, which will include fishing, chili cook-off, predator hunt competition, and much more. Radar runs, poker run, ice skating, all-day bonfire, good food, and games are planned for the whole family on the ice. The annual Cardboard Classic in Newberry last weekend was fun. We were unable to attend the whole event, but enjoyed the last Engadine fourth grade basketball game for the season, in Newberry, that our son played in. They played hard, and won. Our son-in-law, Raymond Morrison, and our daughter, Meggan, won best of show with their Cardboard Classic sled. At eight months pregnant, Meggan was only able to help build the sled, but Ray flew down the hill, with his “pit crew” pushing his NASCAR #20 design.
Until next time, take care.
