Kirtland Community College (KCC) dropped an 89-87 heartbreaker to Mott Community College as Liz Stempki of St. Ignace scored 20 points.

The Lady Firebirds, with eight freshmen on the roster, dropped to 11-14 overall on the season and 47 in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association.

"Liz plays harder than anyone I have ever watched, played with, or against," said Coach Teresa Stuck. "She gives you everything she has every time she steps between those four lines."
