St. Ignace Pee Wee Hockey Falls in District Semifinal Action at Cadillac
St. Ignace pee wee hockey team fell in the district semifinals after posting a 3-0 record during qualifying round at the Wexford County Civic Arena in Cadillac Friday, February 3, through Sunday, February 5.
The Saints skated to a 6-3 in the opener Friday as Patrick Sweeney tallied two goals, Ryan Marshall, Caleb Radtke, and James Goudreau recorded one goal and one assist each, William Pechta notched one score, and Brennan Danielson charted two assists and Tom Robbins, Cody Therrian, and Patrick Wyers contributed one assist apiece.
Radtke scored two goals, Sweeney registered one score, and Danielson recorded one assist to lead St. Ignace to a 3-2 win over Gaylord during the second game Friday.
The Saints marched to the semifinal round with a 7-2 win over Alpena on Saturday, as Radtke scored two goals, Pechta notched one goal and two assists, Marshall chipped in one goal and one assist, Goudreau and Therrian both charted single goals, Ben Damron tallied two assists, and Ben Idalski and Sweeney marked one assist each.
St. Ignace was shut out 7-0 in the semifinal game to the host Cadillac squad Sunday morning to end the Saints run to the district championship game.
