Les Cheneaux Superintendent Interviews at Inland Lakes District
Les Cheneaux Community Schools Superintendent Rodney Goehmann interviewed for the position of superintendent at Inland Lakes School District Wednesday, March 8. He was not, however, selected as one of the final candidates for the position.
Inland Lakes is a district of 1,100 students, and is based in Indian River.
Mary Jo Dismang, middle school principal at Houghton Lake Community Schools, and Dennis Furton, high school principal at Glen Lake Community Schools in Maple City, are the final two candidates for the position. The Inland Lakes Board of Education plans to visit the candidates' school districts and make a final selection in the next two weeks. They narrowed the field from seven to two candidates Thursday, March 16.
Mr. Goehmann said nothing in particular prompted him to interview for the Inland Lakes superintendent position, and that he has "no further comment at this time."
"There is nothing going on at the school," he added. "It was just an interesting posting that caught my eye."
Mr. Goehmann has been with Les Cheneaux Community Schools since 2001, when he was hired as superintendent to replace Nadine Cain. He previously served as superintendent of the CarneyNadeau Public School District in the western Upper Peninsula.
