Les Cheneaux Students Take Store's Reading Challenge

2006-03-23 / News

Les Cheneaux Elementary students will be able to shave Principal Eric Cardwell's head if they meet a reading challenge issued by the Sault Ste. Marie Wal-Mart store. A parent, Todd Lysinger of Cedarville, has also volunteered to have his head shaved for the challenge.

School library aide Shelly Reid is coordinating the contest and keeping track of who reads the most books at Les Cheneaux Elementary. They are part of an area-wide contest that will award $500 to the school that reads the most books, $300 to the secondplace school, and $200 to the third-place school.

The class that read the most at Les Cheneaux Elementary will be treated to a pizza party. Elementary students who read the most books will have their names entered in a drawing, and names will be drawn Friday, April 7, during reading marathon, for the opportunity to shave Mr. Cardwell's and Mr. Lysinger's heads.
