Bowling Team Celebrates End of Third Season
Coach Terri Allan presented LaSalle High School bowling awards to (from left) Jamin Corwin, Chris Binger, Josh Bloxsom, Kelly LaJoice, Desiree Allan, and Anna Krause. LaSalle High School girls and boys bowling teams were honored during the annual awards banquet Monday, March 13.
Coach Terri Allan presented most valuable awards to junior Desiree Allan and sophomore Chris Binger. Allan averaged 146 and bowled a game high of 215. Binger recorded a 195 average, up 34 pins from last year, tallied high game of
247, and qualified for the state individual championships.
Freshman Anna Krause and sophomore Jamin Corwin received most improved honors. Krause increased her average eight pins from the beginning of the season to 115 and registered a personal high game of 155. Corwin averaged 172 with an increase of 24 pins from last year and high game of 203.
Senior coaches awards were presented to Kelly LaJoice and Josh Bloxsom. LaJoice averaged 127 with high game of 160, and Bloxsom was second, with an average of 186 and high game of 227.
Bowlers receiving their first varsity sports letters include Christina Smith, with a 101 average and high game of 132, Klancie Argue, 71 average and high game of 118, Brook Allan, 129 average and high game of 153, Trevor Belonga, 141 average and high game of 143, Andy Mullins, 137 average and high game of 169, Krause, and LaJoice.
Treston Fogelsonger averaged 164, up 22 pins from last season and high game of 222, Drew Cope had a 140 average, up eight pins, and high game of 177, and Rob Olsen averaged 123 with high game of 148.
Seniors competing for the final time were Kelly LaJoice, Christina Smith, Josh Bloxsom, Drew Cope, and Rob Olsen.
"This was a good group of athletes to work with," said Coach Allan. "Everyone came ready to practice each day and they were excited about the season and the underclassmen are looking forward to next year."
