St. Ignace News All-Area VB Team Honors 42

Forty-two players were named to The St. Ignace News All-Area Team that included 23 seniors, 15 juniors, three sophomores, and two freshmen.

The players are selected from teams that include St. Ignace, Cedarville, Pickford, Mackinaw City, Mackinac Island, DeTour, Rudyard, and Engadine.

The first team consisted of seniors Ashley St. Louis of St. Ignace, Lauren Waybrant of Pickford, Lauren Izzard and Marcie Mason of Cedarville, and Dana VanSloten of Rudyard, and junior Elicia Derusha of Engadine.

The second team included seniors Jenny Massaway of St. Ignace, Emily St. Onge of Mackinac Island, Janelle Klamerus of DeTour, and Erica Nordquist of Rudyard, and juniors Erica Ahlich of St. Ignace, Chelsey O'Connor of Pickford, and Nicole Benoit of Engadine.

The third team was made up of seniors Krista LaVake of St. Ignace, Jill Haske of Cedarville, Melissa Bunker of Mackinac Island, and Kristen Darrow of Mackinaw City, and juniors Veronica Gough of Pickford and Kristi Kamphuis.

Special mention honors went to seniors Chelcee Tiernan and Brittany Dykstra and junior Misty Gamble of St. Ignace; senior Donielle Landreville and sophomores Hope Deeren and Carissa Sudol of Cedarville; senior Christina McLean, sophomore Karlena Mosley, and freshman Shayleen Mosley of Mackinac Island; seniors Whittney Kerridge and Jazmin Rodriquez of Engadine; senior Leena LaPoint and juniors Missy Ellis and Kelly Tomlinson of DeTour; senior Kacey Nyberg and seniors Caitlin Mortinsen and Renae Reich of Pickford; juniors Bethany Campbell, Katie Smydra, and freshman Cheyenne Withey of Mackinaw City, and senior Rachelle Donaghue and junior Mandy Hesselink of Rudyard.
