Florence Sturt Dealt Second Perfect 29 Cribbage Hand

For the second time in a lifetime, Florence Sturt of St. Ignace was dealt a perfect 29 cribbage hand while playing a game with her son-in-law, Tom Tarnutzer, Sunday, March 19. Mrs. Sturt held three fives and a jack, and the five of clubs was turned over to make a perfect hand, she said.

Thirty-two years ago, almost to the day, Mrs. Sturt had a perfect hand in a four-person game March 21, 1974.

"I couldn't believe it," she told The St. Ignace News last week. "I've never known anybody to get a perfect hand twice in a lifetime."

An avid card player, she said years ago she and her husband, the late Lee Sturt, often enjoyed playing cribbage at the Legion Hut.
