Happy Easter season to all. Hope the Easter Bunny was good to all of you.

It has been nice and warm outside and the trees are showing signs of leaves. There are sure signs of spring in the air.

The Schoolcraft County Chamber of Commerce invites everyone to the "Spring Ladies Luncheon" Wednesday, April 26, at noon at the First Baptist Church in Manistique. Join them for soup, sandwiches, and dessert for a $5 donation.

The Manistique Senior Center group reminds everyone that they have bingo Monday nights beginning at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

There will be a benefit dinner for the Humane Society of Schoolcraft County Sunday, April 23, from

noon to 3 p.m. at the Senior Center. Aroast beef dinner with all the trimmings will be served. Cost is $6 per person and $5 for senior citizens, and no charge for children 5 and younger. All proceeds will benefit animals.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 24, for the Second Annual Pioneer Days. There will be a lumberjack breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Emerald City Expresso and a craft and flea market from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Pioneer Park. Booth space is available. There will be musical entertainment all day long. All proceeds go to benefit the Schoolcraft County Historical Society.

The Big Mac Pac Snowmobile Club is holding its 36th Annual Smelt Fest Saturday, April 22, from

4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Cove Bar in Naubinway. Enjoy a feast of crispy smelt, salad bar, and desserts. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 and younger, with no charge for children 5 and younger. Sneaky Peak will be entertaining with his "Fiddling In The Season" from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Congratulations to Arlee and Alfred Faulkner on their recent marriage. We wish them many years of happiness.

Happy birthday to Hannah McArthur April 20, Eric Kenwabikise April 23, and Bryana Biang and Walt Trier April 25.

Congratulations to Roger and Dawn Berry, who will celebrate their wedding anniversary April 26.
