Rexton-Garnet

By Linda Livermore 595-7283

Following a week's vacation to the easterly side of this great country, I can truly say that there is no place like home. While enjoying the sights that Pennsylvania, Virginia, South Carolina, and Georgia had to offer, it is good to be back in town.

While traveling, the gas prices seemed fairly consistent - that is, high, higher, and even higher.

Easter services filled our tiny town's church to "maybe we need to put out a few chairs." Following the services, folks gathered with family and friends to partake of Easter ham and all the trimmings. Rosie Prater shared with her daughter, Snooks, and granddaughter; both traveled down from Marquette.

Cindy Pongracz was joined by her sister, Jenna, and their mom, Barb, to enjoy the day.

Welcome back to the many folks who manage to maintain their body temperatures at a warmer level through the winter: Ron and Frances Jones, Buster and Pauline Peters, along with Clarence and Gladys Bumpus.

Congratulations to Sami Maison, who was one of the students from Engadine High School who was chosen to receive the Eastern Upper Peninsula Principals award for academic excellence. Sami will be graduated in June.

Also, via a long distance phone call, our son, Dave, informed us of his promotion to staff sergeant in the U.S. Army. What a birthday present. He will reach the ripe old age of 27 on April 21.

Birthday wishes to Hendricks Township Fire Chief Al Dyer April 18; Harold Derusha April 20; Phillip Hood April 21, and Dewey Wilder April 22.

Anniversary wishes to Harry and Cheryl Stephenson April 19.
