Jason Allen Seeks Reelection
Jason Allen State Senator Jason Allen has announced plans to run for another term and to promote his new campaign, he took a three-day tour of both peninsulas, stopping to speak at several businesses, political offices, and a senior citizens center. On Friday, April 28, he made public announcements of his campaign at the Driftwood Restaurant in St. Ignace, Cup of the Day in Sault Ste. Marie, and the City Park Grill in Petoskey.
The Traverse City Republican has been in office since 2002 and represents the 37th district, which includes Grand Traverse, Antrim, Charlevoix, Emmet, Cheboygan, Presque Isle, Mackinac, and Chippewa counties.
Senator Allen serves as the chairman of the Senate Commerce and Labor Committee and the Gaming and Casino Oversight Committee. He serves as vicechairman on the Economic Development and Small Business and Regulatory Reform committees. Further, he is a member of the Government Operations Committee and serves on the Executive Board for the National Conference of State Legislatures.
The state primary election will be Tuesday, August 8. The general election will be Tuesday, November 7.
