Ruth Wondergem
Ruth Wondergem Ruth Joanne Wondergem, 64, of Pickford, passed away Friday, April 28, 2006, at War Memorial Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie.
She was born February 5, 1942, in Sault Ste. Marie. She grew up in Pickford and was graduated from Pickford High School.
She married Clarence William Wondergem August 12, 1960, in Rudyard. For more than 20 years, while he served in the United States Air Force, they lived in France, Oregon, Missouri, Alaska, and Mississippi.
They returned to Pickford, where Mrs. Wondergem worked for 16 years at Old McDonald's Furniture and Auction Barn in Pickford and for several years at the Rudyard Pickford Coop Credit Union.
Mrs. Wondergem was a member of the Pickford United Methodist Church. She loved to cross stitch, crochet, and work jigsaw puzzles.
Mrs. Wondergem is survived by her husband, Clarence; one son and his family, Scott and Dawn Wondergem of Pickford; one daughter, Joy Wondergem of Sault Ste Marie; and three grandchildren, Holly, Dennis, and Krysta Wondergem. Also surviving are her mother, Ethel Doris (nee Postma) Wagner of Pickford; a sister and her family, Evelyn and Jerry Naglekirk of Grandville, and a brother and his family, Bruce and Cindy Wagner of Sault Ste. Marie.
She was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Wondergem, and her father, Harold August Wagner.
Visitation was Sunday, April 30, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Reamer Galer Funeral Home in Pickford. Services were Monday, May 1, at 11 a.m. at Pickford United Methodist Church with the Reverend Paul Gruenberg officiating.
Burial will be in Cottle Cemetery in Marquette Township.
