St. Ignace junior high girls and boys track teams competed in meets at the Kiwanis Complex at LaSalle High School Thursday, April 27, at Newberry Tuesday, April 25, and at Cheboygan Monday, April 24. Action at St. Ignace Kiwanis

Track

Girls: The Saints won 14 events at home that included Mallory LaLonde in the high and low hurdles, Sam Radecki first in the long jump and second in the 400, Dani Ford in the 100 dash, Chelsea Swope 3200 run, Kristen Olsen 800 run, Ashley Kasper 70 dash, Christi Therrian shot put, Anna St. Andrew 1600 run, Kali Jo Marshall pole vault, and the 400, 800, 1600, and 3200 relay recorded victories.

Nicole Elmblad finished second in the pole vault and fourth in the high hurdles and 800 run. Kara Fitzpatrick placed second in the long jump and third in the 70 dash. Amber St. Andrew was second in the 200. Placing third were Grace Wheeler in the low hurdles and high jump, Mikaela Kelly in the high hurdles, Kelly Soblaskey in the pole vault, and Holly Smith in the 800. Finishing fourth were Sam Miller in the 200 and long jump, Stacey Goldthorpe in the 3200 run, Catrise Bunker in the 1600, and Heather Beaudoin in the low hurdles.

Boys: Evan Everson won the long jump, Gerrit Mortenson won the high jump, the 400 and 800 relay foursome finished first, and the 1600 and 3200 relay team took seconds.

Gunner Zipp finished second in the 200 and fourth in the long jump. Placing second were Devin Chargo in the 3200 run, Ronnie France in the 70 dash, Caleb Litzner in the low hurdles, Luke Thurston in the shot put, and Austin St. Louis in the high jump. Brad Smith was third in the 200 and pole vault, Zach McFarlane placed third in the 100, William Pechta was fourth in the high and low hurdles, Jimmy Campbell was fourth in the 800, and John Evashevski finished fourth in the pole vault.

Action at Newberry

Girls: Placing first were Kali Jo Marshall in the pole vault, Kristen Olsen in the 800, Chelsea Swope in the 3200 run, and the 800, 1600, and 3200 relay teams.

Mallory LaLonde took second in the high and low hurdles, Grace Wheeler second in the high jump and third in the low hurdles, and Nicole Elmblad second in the pole vault and fourth in the high hurdles. Sam Radecki placed third in the long jump and fourth in the 400, Dani Ford fourth in the 100, Amber St. Andrew fourth in the 200, and Christi Therrian fourth in the shot put.

Boys: Gunner Zipp won the 200 and placed third in the shot put. William Pechta won the high hurdles and placed third in the low hurdles. Austin St. Louis won the high jump, and the four relay teams, 400, 800, 1600, and 3200 foursomes, posted victories.

Finishing second were Luke Thurston in the shot put, Gerrit Mortenson in the high jump, Nathan Everson in the long jump, and Caleb Litzner in the low hurdles. Placing third were Brad Smith in the 1600 and pole vault, Jimmy Campbell in the 800 and 200, and Dan St. Onge in the high hurdles. Finishing fourth were Cole Christiansen in the 800, Zach McFarlane in the 100, and Michael Barthelemy in the 70 dash.

Action at Cheboygan

Girls: Sam Radecki won the long jump and finished fourth in

the 400, Christi Therrian won the shot put, Chelsea Swope the 3200 run, Anna St. Andrew the 1600 run, and Kristen Olsen the 800. The 3200, 1600, and 800 relay teams won and the 800 relay foursome took second.

Ashley Kasper finished third in the 70 dash, and Kali Jo Marshall third in the pole vault. Placing fourth were Dani Ford in the 100, Grace Wheeler in the 200, and Amber St. Andrew in the 200.

Boys: Zach McFarlane won the 100, Caleb Litzner won the low hurdles, and the 400, 800, 1600, and 3200 relay teams all finished first.

Luke Thurston finished second in the shot put and fourth in the 400. Austin St. Louis was second in the high jump. Placing third were Nathan Everson in the long jump, Devin Chargo in the 3200, Jimmy Campbell in the 800, Brad Smith in the 1600, and Gunner Zipp placed fourth in the 200.
