Speedpark Racing To Begin

2006-05-25 / News

Kinross Speedpark, formerly known as Kinross Speedway, opened for the season Friday, May 19. Among the changes for the season at the quarter-mile asphalt race track on the Chippewa County Fairgrounds is a new name. A nonprofit association has been formed, called the Sault Area Racing Association, to promote the speedpark. Serving on the board of directors are Norm Miller, president, Bill Cryderman, vice president, Jen Ware, secretary, Robin Laitinen, treasurer, and Dennis Aho, member at large.

Drivers have been taking practice laps at the track and fine-tuning their equipment.

Kinross Speedpark provides stock car races every Friday, with qualifying rounds beginning at 6 p.m. and race action starting at 7:30 p.m.
