A fundraising banquet sponsored by the Les Cheneaux Islands Wildlife will be Saturday, June 10, at the community center in Cedarville. Funds raised will be used for area fisheries and wildlife habitat improvements and for scholarships that to Cedarville and Pickford high school students who will pursue environmental, natural resources, or related fields of study.

There also will be a presentation from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Wildlife Division about the cormorant control project.

A 50/50 drawing, raffles for prizes, a silent auction, and a live auction will be part of the evening events.

Cocktail hour begins at 6 p.m. and dinner is at 7 p.m. Guests must be 21 years old to attend. Tickets are $70 for a couple and $40 for a single. Everyone buying a dinner ticket will receive a prize. Tickets are available from Pat Carr at (906) 484-2425 or at the door.
