Sherry Grondin of Eckerman was graduated cum laude from Lake Superior State University in Sault Ste. Marie April 29. Mrs. Grondin earned a Bachelor of Science degree in human services, sociology major, with an emphasis in corrections, and an associate's degree in legal studies.

She is the daughter of Donald and Diane Frankovich of St. Ignace.

She is the mother of Angela Johnson and Alicia Granlund, both of Otter Lake, Kenneth Grondin and Shaun Grondin, both of Lapeer, and Cheyenne Grondin. She has 12 grandchildren.

Mrs. Grondin was recognized as the 2006 Alpha Chi recipient for Outstanding Academic Achievement in Human Services, awarded to the top 10 percent of the nation's juniors and seniors by the National College Honor Society. She was honored as the 2006 Outstanding Legal Studies Degree Student by LSSU's School of Business, Economics, and Legal Studies.

She plans to pursue a career with the Department of Human Services for the State of Michigan.
